Thompson Scale Company is a leading manufacturer of checkweighing systems, packaging machinery controls, and custom production scales. With headquarters located in Houston, Texas, Thompson has provided high quality products for over 45 years. Products include in-motion checkweighers, universal filler controllers, universal remote digital displays, inline rejector conveyors, and filling machinery upgrades.

Thompson Scale Company was founded in 1972 by Tom L. Thompson in Houston, Texas. The company started as a checkweighing manufacturer for industrial products. The success of these checkweighers led to the development of high production small package checkweighers, universal filler controllers, data logging and reporting software, and various remote or peripheral displays.

Today, Thompson Scale produces a variety of innovative checkweighing systems and packaging machinery controls. We have a devoted interest in the efficiency and profitability of our customers and take pride in providing consistently accurate systems for the products they manufacture. Our standard products are designed with the user in mind, but can also be custom made to specifications. We excel at designing and engineering equipment for unique and difficult applications. Our products are easy to use, yet flexible enough to work with all applications, require very little maintenance, and offer all the advanced features users need.

FAQ

How many kinds of checkweighers does TSC make?

Our line of checkweighers start with a scale conveyor 12” long x 4” wide belt, and weighs packages to within +/-1g or better. Our intermediate checkweigher offers a variety of conveyor sizes and capacities, and is usually used to weigh packages up to about 40 lbs. Heavy-duty checkweighers are built for weight ranges from 8 lbs. to 110 lbs. We can assist in selecting the right style of checkweigher to meet your specific application needs.

Are your checkweighers legal for trade?

Our line of scales are not legal for trade. An example of a legal for trade scale is a scale in the meat department of your grocery store. You order 1 lbs. of sliced turkey, and they weigh it on this scale, and charge you for whatever the actual weight is. Our in-motion checkweighers only verify package weight based upon parameters entered by the customer. Most cases the nominal weight is already printed on the package, so we only verify the package weight is within tolerance, and reject those that are not.

Does TSC offer service?

Yes, Thompson Scale offers tech support over the phone, local service representatives in your area and our own in-house techs that can travel to you. Our tech support over the phone is free of charge and available Monday through Friday, 7AM to 5PM CST.
